good life
next time i'll post some more picutres but i keep forgeting to take any :)
life is good. my uni sounds really good and interesting (there is a whole big course for intercultural psychology which is great and there are lots of sports and dance classes :)). i'm also a proud student of arab department at inalco. i'm also discovering the best bike routes, meeting some friends, being tempted at a flea market near my place, checking out the food stores (with attieque!!!) and restaurants (ethiopian... yummy...) nearby. actually, i've been only once to the center of paris since i came here :) but the north is just everything you might want. tomorrow i'll check out one of the frisbee teams :))))

jestem!

back in bamako
we're back in bamako from timbuktu :) sorry for not many news recently but we've (WE is me and karolina) been busy doing not much and didn't have much access to the internet. a couple of snapshots as usual :)
...the comanav boat from mopti to timbuktu - 2 days and 3 nights on the niger river with a boat full of people from all walks of life + lots of oranges, rice, a cow, a horse and one "cabine luxe" occupied by the governor's family (including 10-year old saud who plays cards really well)
...TIMBUKTU, the city that was supposed to be a dissapointment, is BEAUTIFUL!!! there are people of all sorts - speaking bambara, from the south, speaking sorai from timbuktu, arab-speaking newcomers from mauretania and the north, tamazigh-speaking touaregs and some other interesting people :) the whole city is in mud and mud-brick houses with beautiful windows and door.
...the colors of touareg cloths are AMAZING
...SEBASTIAN, a belgian-malian who lived in poland for 7 years and still speaks polish well
...birthday morning in the desert which is quite green thanks to the governmental program anti-desertification. yuppieee!!! people are winning against the desert :)
...NEVER ENOUGH TIME....
now we're back in bamako thinking what to do next. burkina? guinee? we'll see :)
