malaria and crocodile's poop

sooo... our glorious expedition to the north turned out to be a little less glorious than we wanted it to be...

monday- 2hours of waiting for the taxi to savalou to fill. then 6 hours and 200km, pulling over every 400m to try to squeeze in another passenger. even the driver shared his seat with another person. me with high fever - a prelude to my malaria. a flat tyre. and at savalou no place to sleep (it was a festival of mashed nyams, so all the hotels and hostels were full). then a night in a tiny room (love room... rented for hours)... almost no ventilation and still high fever.

tuesday - a walk around savalou. nice breakfest at matty's (a guy we met there) . at noon the fever was back again... we hung around the festival a little and went to dassa. there at the station martial found us, bought me chinine instantly and took to his ouncle's house (big beautiful house at the foot of the highest of the dassa's 41 hills). chinine worked well so i produced a litlle lake noukoué of sweat and went to sleep

wednesday - we went to glazoue. 14 passengers + 2 babies in one peugeot... in glazoue wonderful marketplace with plenty of nyams:) in the afternoon we climbed one of the hills in dassa. beautiful!!!! ate out in the evening and went to sleep...

thursday - long long journey home (travelling further north with malaria wasn't tempting)
friday - lots of work in the office

saturday&sunday - the farm and there: crocodile's poop!!!! right in between two of the ponds. the beast, wants to eat our fish!!! and in the evening...
philipp was making fun as always of leon who's afraid of crocodiles. he said there was one in the pond. philipp was only joking but leon caught this little baby...
