it's not gonna happen

merry christmas everyone!!

it's been a long time since the last post, huh? it's mostly because i've been wanting to write somthing long and interesting but never had time... sorry, there just won't be anything like this. still, i've made some discoveries that i loved...
  • bikram yoga. the best. check out yourselves!
  • katakumby w podziemiach paryża. jeszcze do obejrzenia!
  • petite ceinture and the railtracks...
  • alimentation generale...
  • socalled... my absolute love. especially when on concert in espace radhi...
  • greves (strikes)... there are always some strikes - of RER, of metro, of trains, of professors, of students, of bike riders... all the time. damn...
  • brand new efte www :)
  • christmas preparation...
i've never noticed the white horse before

walks on montmartre (in good company :)) are the best...

i just can't help loving it

anew

last week was FUN! not so much work, not so much studies. lots of hanging out. a bit of lazying at home. everything was perfectly balanced :)

what did i do???? i can't remember actually, i just remember lots of exhibitions and les marais and brasilian dances and great ethiopian food and lots of museums (louvre, quai branly, la vilette...) and general good time. i even cooked a soup today!!!! yes!!!

oh, but i do remember why i didn't write any posts over the last week. i just got some time to read some of my friends' blogs and they're just soooo great! and interesting! any my lousy posts serve only letting people know that i'm alive.

sooo... together with some other pre-new year resolutions (like no coffee and total veganism and catching up on all over-due tasks before christmas), i promise that the NEXT post will be interesting!

a short summary

i arrived to paris 70 days ago
i've spent here really 50 days
i've had friends staying over for 40 days (i wasn't always there though)

the good thing is that i'm back. another visitors have just arrived :)

still. i have to WORK (a little bit) and practice the clarinet (a lot) and get some rest (a LOT) and visit some exhibitions (the photography month is over, but some of the exhibits are still there)

developping

yeah, developping... myself more than the world, but still it's a good direction right? :)

first, fairtrade in poland! the meeting was good and extremely efficient!!! go PZS go!!
then, EGED - evaluating, learning, planning, evaluating, learning and planning. i just love glen :)

then, EDDs - interesting, exciting, frustrating, making me think a lot...
then, citizens for responsible europe - tooooooo much. i'm fed up with ge and i need a break, at least for 24h

so now i'm chilling out (and chilling in general, cause it's getting colder and colder down here), catching up on school work and practicing the clarinet finally (did i mention that i LOVE it? :))

warsaw is the best

WARSZAWA
Choćbyś morzem żeglował,
choćbyś lądem wędrował,
nie wiem jaką krainą ciekawą ,

ona wezwie cię dłońmi,
sen ją w nocy przypomni
i jak dziecko zawołasz: Warszawo!
A niech zerknie mój bracie
księżyc na Mariensztacie
albo liść zawiruje złotawy,
niech wiatr dmuchnie od rzeki,
a już jesteś na wieki
zakochany w urodzie Warszawy.

Bo to ona, wciąż ona,
tarcza niezwyciężona,
promieniami okryta i sławą.
Myśli nasze wciąż o niej.
Serca nasze wciąż do niej.
Wszystko dla niej. Dla ciebie,

Warszawo!

07 November 2008

eh

full of optimism, joy, energy and impatience i'm going to my beloved warsaw tomorrow. it's gonna be intense... then EGED (germany) and EDD (strasburg) and back to paris on Nov 18th.

i miss paris already. really. i miss everything - my neighbors, newspaper man, clarinette... everything.

eh.

thank you, Yann Arthus-Bertrand

just beautiful. and helps me remember how amazing the world is

close to people

it's funny and wonderful how close you can feel to people even when you're away. and that you can feel closer to someone on another continent that to your next-door neighbor.

that's how i feel right now.

after having spent a wonderful weekend with ania (+ethical fashion show +tricky + batucada +cameroonian food), talked hours on skype with a bunch of my favorite poles, exchanged emails with those much more east, west and/or south and hanged out the whole day with pyzia i really feel like i'm surrounded by good and loving people. thanks...

still, it would be great to really connect with someone here. hey, great parisians, where are you??? i'm looking forward to meeting you finally :)

oh, and life's just so amazing in general... and i'm finally starting to appreciate paris x, especially after a portugese and a russian class. palestynian arabic (inalco) is not bad, non plus. and afrodance and clarinet are preety amazing too!!!oh, how i love to learn!!! and the job is so exciting...

and i got to go, i'm expecting guests for another 10 days... how is my tiny flat going to survive that...?

recycle your used plastic cup (after having drunk a HORRIBLY tasting half-a-cup of coffee) and hit the jackpot!!

!!!! (only the act of buing this book wasn't a very responsible consumer choice...)

which way's the future?

10 October 2008

09 October 2008

i need a change

a new blog color is a change. i need a bit more...

fortunatelly, i've just finished everything but my BA paper and I've just decided not to finish it now. what will be will be.

i'm also a bit fed up with the bureaucracy at paris x, but it's also behind me now.

what's left is the time to explore! just in time :) i was starting to feel a bit down.

next week is my first clarinet lesson :) i also got my navigo card, so i'm ready to explore!!!

05 October 2008

enjoying

after a couple of days of trying to finish my african studies papers and organize the paris x studies, i have finally had a couple of days of meeting friends, hanging out and enjoying the amazing city.

thursday: hanging out with adrien and angelique (merci, angelique :)).

friday: a booooooring conference at unesco's hq and interesting exhibition about fairtrade. check out cafetaleros. merci, romain :)

saturday: zuza and marcin and "la nuit blanche" and visiting centre pompidou until 1 a.m.

sunday: trying to get some work done and inbetween falling in love with the quai branly museum... first sunday of the month for free...

02 October 2008

znowu grasuję w sieci

me and my 13 sq. m

view from the window

of course

at night (it's not always that tidy)

printemps (spring) in paris. right. judging by david's outfit, it's summer

yes, you're right :) marysia is just packing a big toy pather in kitchen plastic foil...
that's how you end up being after having spent a year in paris

my uni. i don't like it that much anymore :/ the last two days's been rough

guess where's that :)

i've got internet at home!!!!!!!! :) i feel kind of bad to be so happy about it but you, who have it at home, don't even know how much time it saves you when you don't have to leave the house each time you need to send something urgent...

good sides: i'm going to more efficient in writing my papers, my hands won't freeze while i'm writing you emails, it's won't rain anymore on my computer, i'll drink less coffee (cause i won't have to go to coffeeshops to get wi-fi)

bad sides: i won't see the good looking bartenders at 'le bloc' that often, i will spend less time in my favorite park, i'll be tempted to waste my time surfing the net, i'll have no more excure not to finish my papers

life's good. university paris x is by far the worst organized university i have ever seen. my erasmus coordinator is the least polite person i have ever met. but the rest of the people are really great and sweet. i'm progressing in my papers for african studies so there IS a hope that one day (and that day should be 10th oct...) i'll finish them...
